Udstillingen præsenterer en række skulpturarbejder, der lægger vægt på de betydninger, der kan opstå i arbejdet med det fysiske stof. Her er der ikke grænser for, hvilke materialer, der benyttes — eksempelvis kinesiske lykkekager, trælægter, tyggegummi og grydelåg. Alle kunstnere er blevet bedt om at forholde sig til det konkrete udstillingssted. Med udgangspunkt heri arbejder de ud mod materialets grænser.

The exhibition presents a number of sculptural works that place an emphasis on the meanings that can arise in working with the physical material. Here, there are no limitations on what materials are used: there are Chinese fortune cookies, laths, chewing gum and pot lids. All of the participating artists have been asked to address themselves to the specific exhibition space. Taking their points of departure in this premise, they have been working out toward the material’s boundaries. 

SKULPTURI udstiller værker af kunstnerne Hans Hemmert (D), Stefan Wissel (D) and Charlotte Thrane (DK) for at sætte fokus på det dynamiske møde mellem leg og alvor. Værkerne præsenteres i forskellige konstellationer, der dog har det til fælles, at de benytter en uhøjtidelig humor.

SKULPTURI has invited artists Hans Hemmert, Stefan Wissel and Charlotte Thrane in order to set a focus on the dynamic encounter between play and seriousness. The works are presented in various constellations; what they have in common, though, is that they make use of an unpretentious humor.

Københavns byrum undergår i disse år store forandringer. Havnefront, Ørestad, byfornyelse og kvarterløft er nøgleord i den offentlige debat — men hvor er kunsten blevet af? Projekterne, der skal ses som idéoplæg, har fokus på hovedstadens offentlige rum, hvor det skulpturelle element kan finde god plads og anvendelse.

In these years, Copenhagen’s urban spaces are undergoing major changes. Ørestad, urban renewal and neighborhood lift programs are key words in the public debate — but what’s happened to the art? The exhibited projects, which have to be regarded as draft proposals, have their focus on the capital city’s public spaces, where the sculptural element can find plenty of room and application. 

Kritisk Form fokuserer på dialogen med det omgivende samfund som skulpturen ansporer.  Den fundamentale tese er at skulpturen ikke længere kun er et æstetisk fænomen, men derimod, siden 60’erne, er blevet en sprogførende arbejdsform, der forholder sig kritisk, men også uhøjtideligt, til det omgivende samfunds aktuelle sociale, politiske og historiske emner. Critical Forms focus on the critical dialogue with the surrounding society which sculpture instigates. The fundamental thesis is that sculpture is no longer simply an aesthetic phenomenon, rather it has, from the sixties on, become an increasingly critical and language based way of exposing and relating to social, political and historical contexts. Curated by Lars Bent Pedersen
